Why ReDiscover? 700+ dedicated professionals Over five decades of community impact A culture grounded in compassion, collaboration, and growth About the Urgent Care Program The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) is the first program of it's kind in the Kansas City area that provides the community immediate, same-day access to psychiatric medication for mental health and substance use needs. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, the BHUCC team provides care to clients every day of the week, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the client's and community's needs. What You'll Do Complete initial assessment/history on all clients entering treatment. Strategically use assessment information to make an appropriate clinical evaluation of client's current conditions in a timely manner. This includes (but not limited to) making appropriate referrals, consulting with physician, and/or educating the client as appropriate. Educate client and families on symptoms, medications and side effects. Provide a welcoming approach towards all clients, visitors and guests from a trauma informed approach. Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover's designated electronic medical record. Communicate and collaborate with an internal multi-disciplinary team to address various aspects of wellness and ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care. Requirements of the Position Availability to work 12-hour shifts as needed - (Clinic operates 7-days a week from 9:00am to 9:00pm); all new hires are required to attend a one-week ReDiscover orientation as part of the onboarding process. Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Active Missouri license as a Registered Nurse or LPN (or the ability to practice as an RN or LPN in the state of Missouri). At least two (2) years clinical experience in a direct service provision in a mental health setting preferred. Knowledge of the community resources as well as health and social service systems in the Kansas City metro area and skill in establishing working relationships with community partners preferred. Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus. Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as use of email.
