Job Description

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Heart Hospital Clinic on day shifts. In this full-time role, you'll deliver specialized cardiac care, performing assessments, administering medications, monitoring heart conditions, and supporting diagnostic procedures. You'll educate patients and families on treatment plans and lifestyle changes, collaborate closely with cardiologists and the care team, and ensure accurate EHR documentation. Responsibilities Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac patients in the Heart Hospital clinic setting Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize changes in cardiac status Administer medications, IV therapies, and support cardiac procedures per provider orders Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and heart-healthy lifestyle changes Coordinate care and communicate with cardiologists and interdisciplinary team members Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHRFollow clinical protocols, infection control, and safety standards at all times Support continuity of care through follow-up planning and patient outreach as needed Participate in quality improvement, cardiac initiatives, and evidence-based practice updates Engage in ongoing professional development and specialty cardiac training offered by Mercy Required Skills Cardiac patient assessment EKG interpretation IV therapy and medication administration Care planning and coordination Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Patient and family education Cardiac triage and symptom management Clinical protocols and safety standards Interdisciplinary team collaboration Infection control practices
