Obstetrics Registered Nurse / Labor & Delivery Nurse Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Obstetrics Registered Nurse (OB RN) or Labor & Delivery Nurse to join our team within the Indian Health Service. This role involves providing exceptional nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting mothers through childbirth, ensuring safety and comfort, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality maternal care. Duties Monitor and assess the health status of pregnant women throughout labor and delivery, including vital signs and fetal heart rate monitoring. Assist with labor management, including preparing patients for delivery, administering medications as prescribed, and supporting natural or assisted deliveries. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards during all procedures. Assist with neonatal care immediately following birth, including initial assessments and stabilization if necessary. Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in medical records. Educate patients on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care practices. Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for mothers and newborns at all times. Skills Proven experience as an Obstetrics Registered Nurse or Labor & Delivery Nurse in a clinical setting. Strong knowledge of obstetric protocols, fetal monitoring techniques, and neonatal care procedures. Excellent assessment skills with the ability to respond quickly in emergency situations. Compassionate communication skills to provide emotional support to patients and families. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a community healthcare environment. Knowledge of safety standards specific to obstetric care within the Indian Health Service setting. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities during labor and delivery shifts. Commitment to delivering culturally sensitive care tailored to diverse patient populations. Pay:

$3,118.00 - $3,926.00 per week
