CHF, Sepsis, COPD, CVA, DVT, PE, Cellulitis, AKI, ETOH, Psych, IVDA, Hospice Post Surgical Patients:
Ortho, Neuro, Urology, GYN, ENT, GI Surgeries (Hemicoloctomy, Exploratory lap, GIB ), Spinal Surgeries (ECDF, Fusions, Lami), GU (TURP, Cysto) Oncology patients are now seen on this floor, but travelers will not have to give chemo unless specifically stated in submission
Day:
1:5-6 NIHSS
  • required BLS ONS
  • Required for Unit "Surgical 2nd
  • Oncology" only Epidural/PCA/Medication management, Drain/Ostomies management, chest tubes, wound care/wound vacs, general post-surgical recovery, post-op ortho, PICC lines CNAs (
Ratio:
1:8) May have primary patient care for 1-2 patients in your ratio May lower ratios if there is not a CNA Available Shift Unit Manager

Pyxis 1 Day of General Orientation (includes Meditech training) 12-hour shift to orienting to different units Med/Surg Combo
  • Surgical and Oncology Patients Med/Surg Ortho
  • Ortho/Surgical and Hospice Brendan House
  • LTAC/Nursing Home patients
  • orientation provided Behavioral Health (formerly Pathways) is a department of Logan Health Medical Center that provides acute inpatient services for mental health and substance abuse
  • orientation provided Med/Surg General/Covid ED Holding (same patient ratio within the MS units)
Day:
0700-1930;
Night:
1930-0700 Every other weekend rotation Attempt to put travelers on pattern schedule but this may vary at times Able to look for unit assignment in the scheduling system (API), or check with staffing office. Shift huddle on each unit before every shift
Holidays:
1-2 Holidays over the winter Eve is a holiday for the night shift Day shift is the day of the holiday
