Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-ICU Job Type Contract Experienced ICU Registered Nurses are needed for a 13-week contract assignment in a Critical Access Hospital setting. This night-shift opportunity offers a dynamic clinical environment and the chance to provide high-level care for critically ill patients. Candidates will work 3x12-hour night shifts each week (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), with the option to pick up an additional shift for extra hours. Variable scheduling includes weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to ICU patients, including assessment, care planning, interventions, and detailed documentation. Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Perform cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation, manage mechanical ventilation, and initiate/titrate IV medications safely. Educate patients and families on care needs, procedures, and recovery processes. Respond to emergencies and supervise licensed as well as non-licensed staff in the unit. Float to Med/Surg unit when ICU is closed, as needed.
Qualifications:
Active RN license required. Minimum 3 years of ICU nursing experience. At least two completed travel RN assignments. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (all preferred at time of submission; discussion possible if PALS not currently held). Prior experience in a Critical Access Hospital strongly preferred. Demonstrated competence in cardiac rhythm interpretation, mechanical ventilation, and IV medication management.
Schedule:
3x12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM); 36 hours/week guaranteed, with the option for a fourth shift based on interest. Variable days, including weekends and holidays.
Additional Information:
Travel nurses must be willing to float to Med/Surg if needed. Housing is not provided, but a list of local housing resources is available.
