Nurse Consultant I Purpose Provide hands-on and administrative nursing support to communities based on the needs of those communities and their individual contracts with RenCare Consulting, Inc. Requirements Must hold a current and unencumbered license to be a Registered Nurse(RN) in the state of North Carolina. Must hold a current and active driver's license in the state of North Carolina. Walking and hearing is required 75% or more per shift. Far vision, near vision, low to medium levels of lifting, low levels of carrying and pushing/pulling, low to medium levels of handling and fingering are required about 50% per shift. Standing, talking, medium levels of carrying, pushing/pulling is required about 25% per shift. Sitting, crouching, climbing(ascending or descending), bending/twisting, reaching, very high levels of lifting, high to very high levels of carrying, very high levels of pushing/pulling is required about 10% per shift. Stooping, running grappling, balancing, feeling, high levels of lifting, pushing/pulling, fingering is present only in unusual situations. The required lift for this job classification is 50 lbs. Description 1. Assure all rights granted to residents in the Resident's Bill of Rights are provided for and that assistance is available to exercise these rights. 2. Keep patient information and their medical records confidential. 3. Make sure that proper record keeping and documentation is maintained for residents. 4. Ensure that all residents and employees follow all rules and regulations, as well as, the communities policies and procedures. 5. Serve as a reference for community personnel and Administration. 6. Assist with the care of residents, including prompting and performing the activities of daily living (ADLs) for which the residents need such assistance. HR-201 Nurse Consultant I 7. Assure that all accidents/incidents are reported and recorded upon occurrence and that the appropriate parties are notified. 8. Able to contact on-call person and activate the chain-of-command, when necessary. 9. Follow orders prescribed by a physician and assure total care is delivered as ordered to all residents. 10. Maintain and assure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. 11. Supervise staff that are on shift and make sure that coverage according to the state regulated staffing requirements is met. 12. Assure adequate hours of relevant continued education per year to stay in compliance with licensure and other regulatory agencies. 13. Perform Licensed Healthcare Provider Support (LHPS) assessments in a timely manner and based on regulatory requirements when new tasks are added. Complete proper documentation and supply to the community at the conclusion of each LHPS visit. 14. Provide feedback to the communities based on LHPS visits in written summary form at the conclusion of each visit. 15. Provide instruction and supervision to staff of contracted communities as requested or directed by company Administration. Including PersonalCare Aide training, Medication Aide training, and other company developed continuing education courses. 16. Supervise unlicensed staff while conducting LHPS visits and educational visits to ensure care is being performed in a way that complies with applicable local and state laws, rules, and regulations. 17. Consult with community administration about any issues or matters that require administrative oversight or follow-up. 18. Help to develop plans of correction or compliance with areas of concern or when issues are discovered. 19. Create quality assurance programs in coordination with community input to ensure on-going compliance and improvement. 20. Ensure that all visits by the consultant are reported and billed appropriately upon completion to RenCare Administrative personnel. RenCare Consulting, Inc. Page 2 of 3
