Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-CVICU Job Type Travel Discover the charm of central North Carolina with a travel nursing assignment in Lexington. This location offers a vibrant blend of urban convenience and small-town warmth, making it an ideal place to explore regional culture, outdoor adventures, and local cuisine during your downtime. Working in this area provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with experienced health professionals at an advanced, community-based hospital designated as a Chest Pain and Primary Stroke Center. You'll gain invaluable exposure to high-acuity care and innovative practices, significantly enhancing your resume and fostering professional growth. Expand your expertise within an 8-bed Cardiovascular ICU led by a supportive clinical team, including 24/7 access to respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and an intensivist. The positive, team-focused unit culture encourages knowledge sharing and leadership development at every shift.
Schedule/Hours:
Shifts available: Days (0700-1930) and Nights (1900-0730) 12-hour shifts Weekend rotation: every other weekend Holiday rotations required (75% of holidays worked) Schedule cycle every 6 weeks
Qualifications:
Active, unencumbered RN license Minimum 1 year of ICU experience BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Readiness to float within critical care or Intermediate Care as needed Willingness to adapt, including for first-time travelers
Key Skills:
Advanced cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring Cardiac rhythm interpretation and strip reading Care for ventilated patients and CRRT Management of post-open-heart cases, Impella/IABP, and Swan-Ganz catheters Expertise in vascular access, arterial/central lines, and titration of cardiac drips
Responsibilities:
Care for critically ill medical, surgical, and cardiac patients with complex interventions Comprehensive care for respiratory, renal failure (CRRT), and post-cardiac arrest patients Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and collaborative care across disciplines
