1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at a primary stroke center hospital in Lexington, NC, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and strong critical care skills including vent management and vasoactive drip titration. Details 16-bed Medical ICU (MICU-type) unit within a 96-bed hospital designated as a Primary Stroke Center Common patient diagnoses include ARDS, sepsis, COPD, DKA, and stroke RN-to-patient ratio is 2:1 for ICU patients and 3:1 for IMC patients CNA support available for ADLs, transport, and receptionist duties Charge nurse, resource nurse, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage available 24/7 Respiratory therapy (RT) available 24/7; PICC team on-site during partial hoursEMR:
Epic Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, GE monitors, Bair Hugger, Verathon Bladder Scanner, and Blanketrol machine 12-hour day shifts starting at 6:45 AM, 36 hours per week Every-other-weekend rotation required Floating may be required to Med/Surg at a 4:1 ratio or to the ED as a resource nurse (no patient assignment) No on-call requirements Schedule is posted on a 6-week cycle Requirements Active NC RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year Proficiency in arterial line management, vasoactive medication titration, ventilator management and weaning, and chest tube management Epic EMR experience At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the past year Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers will be considered with demonstrated strong ICU experience Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays RTO requests require Resource Team approval Royal blue scrubs required Free parking available on-site Unit culture is collaborative, with experienced nurses expected to support and mentor newer nursing staff New employees must have been separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position Orientation includes facility-wide NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation A clinical interview is required for this positionSimilar jobs in Lexington, NC
