Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in Stepdown care. This contract position is ideal for an RN who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care. The role requires skill in monitoring and supporting patients transitioning from critical care to general medical-surgical units, ensuring continuity and excellence in care.
Key Qualifications:
Current and unrestricted RN license Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Stepdown (progressive care) unit Proficiency in patient assessment, cardiac monitoring, and telemetry Strong clinical decision-making and critical-thinking skills Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to Stepdown patients, including those requiring close observation and complex interventions Monitor and interpret vital signs, respond to changes in patient status, and notify physicians when appropriate Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies while documenting in accordance with hospital standards Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans Educate patients and families about recovery processes, self-care, and discharge planning Maintain a safe, patient-centered environment by adhering to infection control protocols and best practices
