Our clinic includes five Foot & Ankle surgeons, a Nurse Practitioner, and a dedicated team that values teamwork, learning, and exceptional patient care. This fast-paced clinic sees an average of 110 patients per day and cares for a wide range of conditions, from routine foot and ankle concerns to complex surgical cases and total joint replacements. This role offers a unique combination of triage and hands-on patient care responsibilities, providing variety in your day and opportunities to develop specialty nursing skills in a positive, team-focused environment. As a Registered Nurse, you will:
- Provide telephone and electronic triage for patients with foot and ankle conditions
- Assess patient concerns and coordinate care with providers
- Review and communicate test results, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations
- Deliver patient education related to diagnoses, procedures, medications, and recovery
- Participate in PRP procedures
- Apply and remove casts and splints, with one-on-one training provided

- Job Summary
- Answers patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of the patient's symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms.
Guides the patient to the appropriate level of care; schedules patient appointments over the phone with appropriate healthcare providers/facilities/physicians. Documents information provided to patients during triage in health record systems; records patients health conditions for follow-up patient care. Maintains and develops triage protocols; ensures patients' healthcare information is updated on time. Role does answer inquiries through multiple variations of technology, depending on department. Educate patients based on calls that come in.
- Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred. One year of healthcare experience preferred. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside. Within first 30 days of employment, all requirements to obtain license needed for role is completed. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
