Days & Nights, 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM-6:30 PM / 6:00 PM-6:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours:
36 hours/week Position Details Acute care Med Surg unit 38-bed unit 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio; must be comfortable with a 1:6 ratio 1 year of Med Surg experience required First-time travelers welcome EPIC experience required Must have experience working the shift for which you are submitted Bedside shift report and proactive patient rounding expected May float to IMCU for Med Surg assignments Navy blue scrubs Patient Population RNs will care for a diverse adult patient population, including: Pneumonia UTI Dehydration Influenza and respiratory illnesses Alcohol withdrawal Orthopedic surgeries, including hips, knees, and shoulders General surgery, including appendix, gallbladder, and bowel procedures Spinal surgeries Urology patients Clinical Requirements BLS required CPI required Experience with EPIC documentation Must be able to titrate drips, including heparin Set-rate medications may include Bumex and Lasix Cardiac monitoring available 24/7; RNs are not required to independently interpret telemetry strips Scheduling No self-scheduling for travel RNs Block scheduling may be accommodated when possible Weekend requirements as needed Holiday requirements as needed Low-census/cancellation standby may be required May float to IMCU as needed Additional Information Nursing supervisor available 24/7 Day shift has two charge nurses; night shift has one charge nurse CNA ratio approximately 1:8-10 Respiratory Therapy support available 24/7 RT equipment includes trachs, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen Unit-specific orientation: approximately 1.5 shifts Expectations include teamwork, assisting with call lights, collaboration with CNAs, bedside shift report, and proactive patient rounding
