Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs aligned with CDC guidelines, OSHA standards, and long-term care regulations. Conduct comprehensive patient observation and monitoring to identify potential infection risks promptly. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate infection tracking, data collection, and compliance with health regulation policies. Provide education and training to healthcare staff on aseptic techniques, microbiology principles, disease prevention policies, and infection control regulations. Lead investigations of infection outbreaks or incidents, analyzing data and recommending corrective actions to reduce transmission risks. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of infectious diseases, epidemiology trends, and public health initiatives related to infection prevention. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans focused on infectious disease care and patient safety. Requirements Proven experience in critical care, hospital settings, assisted living facilities, or long-term care environments. Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention protocols, microbiology, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Knowledge of CDC guidelines, HIPAA regulations, OSHA standards, and long-term care or acute care regulations. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while promoting a culture of safety. Experience with data management systems for data collection, review, and reporting related to infection control activities. Excellent communication skills for educating staff on infectious disease protocols and documentation review processes. Relevant nursing licensure with specialized training or certification in infection prevention or epidemiology preferred.
