Identifies nursing quality and practice issues and develops initiatives for nursing quality and practice improvements. Supports work with senior leaders, clinicians, managers, and staff to implement, evaluate, and maintain improvements. Responsibilities Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of standards of nursing practice in the provision of patient care. Ensures that ambulatory nursing competency is assessed, established, and reviewed. Works with quality management to develop nursing practice improvement strategies, plans and/or procedures. Leads, supports and facilitates the planning, implementation and administration of nursing programs and services. Monitors and evaluates performance of nursing leaders and provides input on performance of Ambulatory leaders. Creates structures and processes that allow for ambulatory nurses to participate in shared decision making on clinical and professional issues. Participates in recruiting and retention strategies for nursing and non-nursing ambulatory leaders. Assists in the implementation of effective and ongoing programs to monitor, evaluate, and improve the practice of nursing and leadership provided. Responsible for evaluating and solving complex clinical dilemmas. Facilitates the flow of information in/out and within the nursing team. Interprets the organizational Nursing Strategic Priorities to form ambulatory goals. Represents Ambulatory Nursing at a Divisional/Senior level. Serves as the nurse expert on Electronic Health Record (HER) related decisions Encourages networking between like practices to streamline and standardize workflows. Liaison to outlying practices for nursing and support staff. Works with physician and administrative leader to facilitate team relationships and implement innovative triad approach to care. Establishes relationships with leaders in other clinics to leverage collective knowledge and capital. Represents team at an organizational level and takes a leadership role. Perform other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 4 years of clinical practice experience or equivalent in education and experience required. Master's degree in a business or healthcare-related field with prior health systems experience preferred. (Will need to achieve if not currently enrolled). Prior experience applying modern improvement methodology to lead and manage change preferred. Value Institute Yellow belt required within first year of practice. Demonstrated excellence in nursing practice and quality facilitation, teaching, and interpersonal skills as well as experience in the concepts and applications of continuous improvement are essential. Membership in a pertinent professional organization. Certification in modern improvement methodology (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) and/or Professional Project Management and/or Healthcare Quality preferred. Certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing highly desired. Required Licensure/Certifications Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.
