Job Description
Frisbie Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department. In this fast-paced role, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients with urgent and critical needs, perform triage, administer medications, coordinate with the care team, and communicate clearly with patients and families. Responsibilities Perform rapid and comprehensive triage of patients presenting to the emergency department Conduct focused, age-appropriate nursing assessments and ongoing monitoring of patient status Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to provider orders and hospital protocols Initiate and assist with life-saving interventions, including CPR and use of emergency equipment Collaborate with emergency physicians and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement plans of care Provide clear communication, education, and emotional support to patients and families in crisis situations Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses in the electronic medical record Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards in all aspects of care Participate in emergency department quality improvement, safety initiatives, and staff meetings Support a culture of teamwork by assisting colleagues, precepting new staff as appropriate, and contributing to a positive work environment Respond effectively to codes and rapid response situations within the hospital as directed Required Skills Emergency nursing care Patient triage and prioritization IV insertion and management Medication administration and dosage calculation Cardiac and vital sign monitoring Wound care and basic procedures assistance Use of emergency equipment (defibrillator, monitors, oxygen delivery systems) Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Critical thinking and clinical judgment Crisis management and de-escalation Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams Infection prevention and control practices Time management and multitasking in high-acuity settings Basic life support and advanced life support skills
