Job Description

Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN ) The Blair Academy J. Brooks Hoffman Health Center has openings for a per diem registered nurse (RN) to cover evenings and weekends, as well as occasional other shifts as needed. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and assessment skills, the ability to work independently and as part of the healthcare team, and a desire to support the health and well-being of the Blair community. This position is non-exempt, essential and reports directly to the Director of Health Services. Duties & responsibilities Provide direct patient care to students on both an in-patient (boarders) and outpatient basis, including assessment, evaluation, health education, and coordination of care; Provide first aid care, urgent care, and nursing interventions in accordance with established standing orders, health center protocols, and the Health Center Policies and Procedures Manual; Administer medications to students and accurately document medication administration in accordance with provider orders and school policy; Maintain confidentiality of all health information in compliance with
FERPA, HIPAA
where applicable and school policy, and ensure accurate,timely patient records; Respond appropriately to medical emergency situations on campus in accordance with emergency response protocols; Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, students and parents/guardians; Perform assigned clinical duties assigned to maintain patient flow, such as checking medication and medical supplies; Assist with student registration, health screenings at the start of the school year and emergency coverage as needed,; Attend staff meetings, trainings, and briefings as scheduled and execute all responsibilities in a way that supports the physical, psychological and social well-being of the school community; and Assist with other duties as assigned. Qualifications & skills: Current RN license in the state of New Jersey; Current CPR certification; Minimum of two years clinical experience; Excellent written and verbal skills; and Flexible in providing coverage as needed. Salary & other compensation: Base pay range $36-43 per hour. Salary dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to education and experience.
