Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students near Elizabeth, NJ for the full 2026/27 school year. In this full-time, 1:1 role, you will make a meaningful daily impact as a dedicated nurse (RN or LPN) working directly with a student who requires individualized care throughout the school day. The position begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year, offering the valuable chance to establish a consistent routine and build strong rapport.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active RN or LPN license required Prior pediatric nursing experience in a school or clinical setting—new graduates will not be considered Demonstrated ability to respond calmly and efficiently in varied circumstances Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude Ready and able to ride the bus with the student to and from school as part of daily coverage
Core Responsibilities:
Provide direct 1:1 nursing care to a student during all portions of the school day, including bus transportation Monitor health status and administer medication or treatments per care plan Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student safety and well-being Maintain detailed, accurate records as required for school nursing standards Adapt care to changing needs throughout the academic year This role offers the chance to build deep, trusting connections with students and the school community, contribute to a positive educational experience, and utilize your clinical expertise in a stable, school setting.
