Full Job Description Total Compensation:
$140k-$180k We're partnering with a well-respected community hospital in Northern New Jersey to find a Hospitalist NP with an oncology background to join their inpatient team. This role would be supporting a well-known cancer-center collaboration and delivering exceptional care to patients when they need it most.
What You'll Do:
Manage acute and chronic complications related to cancer diagnoses and treatment (e.g., neutropenic fever, pain crises, treatment side effects) Provide daily hospitalist rounding for inpatient oncology patients Collaborate with attending oncologists and an interdisciplinary care team to develop and adjust care plans Perform histories, physical exams, and diagnostic assessments Order and interpret relevant labs, imaging, and diagnostics Serve as the on-call provider during off-site hours, available by phone for orders and clinical problem-solving Respond in person for new admissions while on call Maintain thorough, compliant EMR documentation Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the broader care team
What You'll Need:
Active NP license in New Jersey (or eligibility) Board certification as Acute Care NP, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP, or Family NP Prior hospitalist or inpatient acute care experience Oncology background strongly preferred (inpatient oncology, hematology-oncology, or cancer center experience)
