Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive clinical expertise, exceptional patient care skills, and a strong commitment to safety and recovery. As a Registered Nurse PACU, you will be responsible for providing specialized postoperative care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures, ensuring optimal outcomes through vigilant monitoring and compassionate support. Duties Monitor patients' vital signs, oxygen levels, and neurological status during recovery from anesthesia, promptly identifying any signs of distress or complications. Administer medications, including pain management interventions such as opioids or non-opioid alternatives, adhering strictly to prescribed protocols. Perform advanced patient assessments, including physical examinations and physiological evaluations, to determine readiness for transfer or discharge. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding postoperative care instructions and recovery expectations. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as suturing or IV insertions, ensuring infection control standards are upheld at all times. Respond effectively to emergency situations, including airway management Qualifications Valid nursing license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction; prior experience in PACU, critical care, ICU or trauma centers is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with medical documentation and patient data management. Extensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to anesthesia recovery, and acute pain management strategies. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities Strong clinical skills in post anesthesia care, airway management Familiarity with infection control practices within ASC environments. Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced settings. Additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are advantageous.
