Individuals eligible for membership in the NJ Nional Guard Duties Help As a NURSING (OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH), GS-0018-12, you will perform the following duties and responsibilities: Plans, develops, analyses, and reviews occupional health nursing services and program requirements and determines impact on Nional Guard military and civilian personnel and public health. Serves as a liaison between all Ste, NGB and Federal organizions concerning occupional health programs and services. Evalues and administers comprehensive occupional health programs, services and capabilities for military and civilian personnel in the work environment to include field operions, garrison, industrial and administrive sites. Provides occupional health services and medical trement for non-occupional and occupional health illnesses. Coordines with other DoD agencies, other federal agencies (e.g., OSHA, Center for Disease Control, etc.), and Ste agencies (e.g., Ste Departments of Health, Ste Environmental Quality, Ste Nural Resources, Ste Laborories, etc.) regarding evaluion of toxicological da. Requires ability to review medical and other informion pertinent to the OWCP claims. Evalues new claims from a medical perspective to assist in determining whether the agency will controvert the claim. Collects da and prepares final reports on health educion efforts. MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
For entry into this specialty, normal color vision as defined by referenced authorities. Freedom from fear of heights (acrophobia). Specialized Experience:
To qualify for this position, you must have 36 months of the following Specialized Experience Performing periodic onsite surveys, to determine compliance with applicable occupional safety standards Preparing or revising safety instructions and guides Advising personnel of approprie safety and occupional health measures to control or elimine hazardous opering processes which may cause mishaps Investiging mishaps, obtaining stements from witnesses, and photographing mishap scenes Recording circumstances of mishaps and extent of injuries, preparing final report(s) of findings with recommendions to correct the unsafe acts or conditions which caused injuries or property damage Your resume must clearly define this experience.
Educion Undergradue and Gradue Educion:
Major study
  • safety or occupional health fields (safety, occupional health, industrial hygiene), or degree in other reled fields th included or was supplemented by least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely reled) disciplines: safety, occupional health, industrial hygiene, occupional medicine, toxicology, public health, mhemics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.
Certificion as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Health Physicist (CHP), or similar certificion th included successful completion of a written examinion. Additional informion Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
