Job Description

PART-TIME POSITION.
The salary for this position is $36.99 per hour. The Graduate Nurse, Public Health is a part-time registered nurse who performs direct clinical services under the supervision of a public health nurse or the Health Officer. Under direction, conducts epidemiological investigations, and provides public health nursing services to individuals and families in the community for a public health agency. Hours are Mon/Wed/Thurs - 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Investigating and documenting Communicable Disease reports Providing vaccinations to children and adults under "standing orders" Immunization audits at schools and childcare centers Individual and group diabetes/chronic disease management education ("Taking Control" or equivalent evidence-based program) and prevention. Chronic disease screening events and follow-up. Implementing Employee Wellness programs for municipal workforce and other employers. Surge emergency response Other public health projects under the guidance of the Health Officer. The job duties, responsibilities, skills and descriptions herein are not comprehensive. Duties may be added or removed at the Township's discretion.
Required Experience, Technical Skills and Knowledge:
One year experience and successfully complete a course in population-based public health nursing within one year of employment.
Required Education, Certification, License:
Current license to practice as a registered nurse by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or a diploma in nursing Desired Certification /
License:
Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing, walking, moving around, and lifting objects up to 50lbs occasionally. May be required to work outside for periods of time. Will be in close contact with patients and blood-borne pathogens. Vaccinations for influenza and Hepatitis B will be offered at no charge to the employee.
Additional Requirements:
Effective 9/1/11, all employees of State and local government must reside in the State of NJ, unless exempted Must have a valid
