1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Observation Unit position requiring NJ or Compact licensure and acute care telemetry experience. Details Observation Unit setting caring for

CIWA/ETOH

withdrawal, stroke, and ED holding patients Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30 13-week assignment length Patient ratios of 1:5-6 depending on census and acuity Required to work every other weekend Floating required within skillset to all MS/Tele/IMC units and ED holding as needed

EPIC EMR

experience required Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks Requirements Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred Minimum 1 year of acute care experience relevant to the position Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line care Experience starting and maintaining IVs and phlebotomy Experience with dysrhythmia management and telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote) Experience with heparin protocols Familiarity with isolation precautions and PPE use EPIC charting experience required Additional Information Provide nursing care within an academic medical center that is a Level I Trauma Center and Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for emergent patient situations Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays based on unit needs Navy blue scrubs required Locals accepted at the same rate First-time travelers welcome to apply Former RWJBH employees (full-time or PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
