Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a

NICU/PICU

night shift position requiring active NJ license and NBRC certification. Details Neonatal and pediatric critical care unit setting Neonatal critical care and pediatric patient population Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday) Float between pediatric units and NICU based on facility needs, with possible floating to adult units on main campus Uses Servo-I, Servo-U, and V60 BiPAP equipment EPIC charting system used Requirements Minimum 1.5 years of experience required PICU and NICU experience required Active NJ license required (license required if applicable) BLS and RRT certification required NBRC certification required ACLS, PALS, and NRP required; may be obtained onsite for travelers Proficiency in blood gas collection, ventilator initiation and management, BiPAP and high-flow therapy management, and chest physiotherapy Experience with medication administration and in-house patient transport Code response experience required Additional Information Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients Participate in code response and in-house patient transport as needed First-time travelers accepted Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate Requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to offer
