Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role supporting students' well-being throughout the entire 2026/27 academic year. This contract opportunity is designed for experienced RN or LPN/LVN professionals eager to provide dedicated 1:1 care to a student in a vibrant educational environment just outside Newark, NJ. Your expertise will make a direct impact, offering consistent medical support from bus pick-up through the end of the school day. Ideal candidates are passionate about pediatric care and thrive in a school-based setting. We're seeking professionals who are adaptable, compassionate, and ready to engage in all aspects of a student's daily routine.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active RN or LPN/LVN license, with standing in good order Minimum of one year of pediatric experience (school setting preferred) Capable of independent decision-making and responding to emergent needs Strong communication and time management skills Previous experience in 1:1 roles or special needs support is a plus Candidates must not be new graduates
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 nursing care for a designated student, including riding the bus to and from school Administer routine and emergency medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed Monitor and document the student's health status and report changes to appropriate parties Act as a liaison between the school, student's family, and healthcare providers as needed Ensure the student's health care plan is implemented safely and effectively throughout the day Maintain medical records and comply with school health policies Experience the fulfillment of nurturing a student's success and safety in a supportive school environment.
