Schedule/Hours:
Flexible hours with frequent on-call rotation Participation in after-hours and emergency surgeries
Key Responsibilities:
Act as patient advocate, verifying patient identity, consent, and readiness Perform detailed preoperative assessments and participate actively in timeout procedures Prepare OR suites, anticipate surgical team needs, and maintain sterile fields Oversee intraoperative care, document all events clearly and manage surgical counts Monitor patient status and collaborate closely with anesthesia providers Ensure post-op patient transition, providing precise hand-off to PACU or other units Maintain and manage supplies, equipment, and inventory Respond swiftly to emergencies, including trauma and code situations
Qualifications & Experience:
Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program (BSN preferred) Current, unrestricted RN license (compact license accepted) BLS certification required; ACLS required (within 6 months if not held); PALS and CNOR preferred At least 1-2 years of circulating OR nursing experience preferred Comfort with rural/critical access hospital settings a plus Proficient in electronic health records; detail-oriented and adaptable
