262 beds across 10 secure housing units, with an average daily population (ADP) of approximately 170 detainees.
Security Level:
Medium-to-High security local county detention facility, accredited by the New Mexico Adult Detention Professional Standards Council.
Types of Inmates:
Houses adult male and female pre-trial detainees (majority of the population), short-term sentenced local offenders (sentenced up to 364 days), municipal holds, and state/federal transfer holds.
Setting:
Rural-regional county jail operating 24/7 central booking, intake, medical housing/infirmary area, and direct custody management under the Curry County Administration. Job Responsibilities Perform intake screenings (medical, mental health, substance use) Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness/adverse reactions Respond to medical emergencies and provide first-line care Manage chronic conditions (e.g., hypertension, diabetes) Conduct sick call and ongoing patient assessments Document care accurately and maintain compliance with facility protocols Collaborate with providers, mental health staff, and correctional officers
