Essential Job Functions :

Records pertinent medical history, vitals, charge dressings, OCL application, and perform venipuncture. Assists licensed independent practitioners in whatever procedure necessary, including arranging patient appointments for procedures and tests done in other medical facilities. Utilizes laboratory equipment to perform waived laboratory testing. Administers and reads tuberculin skin tests. Administers injections to patients based upon licensed independent practitioners order. Provides emergency treatment as needed. Orders routine medications for the clinic under supervision of the consulting pharmacist. Maintains order in drug storage area, maintains accurate account of all controlled substances, and emergency supplies and keeps narcotic cabinet locked. Performs all procedures in medical and lab procedures manual. Appropriately triages patients when required. Initiate I.V. therapy on licensed independent practitioner's orders. Must be able to work and get along with both staff and patients. Ability to handle stressful situations and to communicate effectively. Supports EEO and PI policies and established standards of Ben Archer Health Center. Works in a culturally sensitive and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned.
