New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute (NMBHI) Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional nursing care in the Adult Psychiatric Division at NMBHI. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges in a safe, therapeutic environment. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care and administer medications as prescribed. Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and treatment progress. Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies using appropriate interventions. Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health professionals, and the interdisciplinary treatment team. Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while following facility policies and behavioral health nursing standards. Schedule dependent on facility needs. Qualifications Active RN license in the State of New Mexico. Current BLS certification required. Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience preferred. Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or acute mental health settings is a plus. Strong assessment, communication, de-escalation, and critical thinking skills.
