Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications and injections accurately following aseptic techniques and medication protocols. Manage complex procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management in accordance with best practices. Coordinate patient care plans through case management, discharge planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in settings like ICU, trauma centers, or outpatient clinics. Conduct diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection and processing, radiology procedures like CT scans or sonography, and infectious disease care. Provide specialized care for populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia, hospice patients, or those requiring memory care. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation for legal and quality assurance purposes. Skills Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for medical records management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and laboratory procedures. Experience working in diverse clinical environments such as emergency rooms (ER), intensive care units (ICU), neonatal intensive care units (NICU), or surgical settings like ORs. Skilled in critical care procedures including airway management, trauma medicine (Level I & II trauma centers), acute pain management, and infectious disease protocols. Ability to perform advanced patient assessments including telemetry monitoring and triage in urgent or outpatient care settings. Familiarity with occupational health standards and Workers' Compensation law to support injured workers' recovery processes. Exceptional communication skills for patient education on health coaching topics like geriatrics or family planning while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
