Salary :
$46.00/hr
Qualifications:
Valid New York State RN License CPR Certified. One year experience in treating individuals with Developmental Disabilities preferred Valid New York State RN License Supervisory experience CPR certification required BSN Experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred. Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Provide nursing care and treatment for emergency and minor malady relief. This includes, but is not limited to, first aid and treatment, changing dressings, and administering medications. Act as primary contact with physicians, pharmacies, labs, hospitals (for residents' treatments, as deemed necessary), day program nurses, etc. and monitor all appointments and follow-ups. Implement special health, grooming and personal hygiene programs for the residents. Coordinate with physician and pharmacy regarding residents' monthly medications. Follow-up on hospital stays including on-site visits, documentation, discharge and communication with hospital staff . Communicate with families and Day program regarding medical issues, as necessary. Obtain and maintain medical histories and records to assure continuity of each resident's medical history in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. Prepare necessary medical documentation including, but not limited to monthly medications administration sheets, medical consults, etc. Provide in-service training to staff regarding health care, safety procedures, and specialized medical care. Report infection control concerns/issues to Coordinator of Nursing and/or Director of Nursing. Implement protective and preventative measures as directed by Registered Nurse. Perform any other duties as requested by the Executive Director or his/her Designee. Join our Team and Make a Difference!
