Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide nursing care in accordance with resident assessments, care plans, and facility policies Perform resident assessments and monitor changes in condition, communicating concerns to providers, supervisors, and families as appropriate Administer medications, treatments, IV therapies, and enteral feedings within the RN scope of practice Accurately document assessments, care provided, treatments, and resident responses Supervise and support Nursing Assistants to ensure quality resident care and timely completion of assigned tasks Coordinate care with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members Ensure resident care plans and clinical documentation remain current and accurate Follow infection control, safety, resident rights, and confidentiality standards Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing staff education activities Perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred Valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License required Current CPR Certification required Experience in a skilled nursing facility or with the geriatric population preferred Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and critical thinking skills Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation abilities Ability to supervise nursing assistants and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care
