Category Nursing - RN-Operating Room Job Type Contract Step into a vital role assisting with surgical care where expertise in operating room nursing is highly valued. This contract opportunity offers an engaging environment for experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) specializing in the Operating Room (OR). The ideal candidate is committed to delivering exemplary patient care, supporting surgical teams, and ensuring safe and efficient procedures.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Active RN license with eligibility to practice. Minimum of one year recent experience in an Operating Room setting. BLS certification (additional
ACLS/PALS
preferred). Proficient in circulating and/or scrubbing on a variety of surgical procedures. Strong knowledge of surgical asepsis and patient safety standards. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Ability to adapt to evolving situations and diverse surgical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms and supplies prior to procedures. Assess, monitor, and advocate for patients before, during, and after surgery. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff. Demonstrate expertise in maintaining a sterile field and infection control practices. Document care accurately, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Respond efficiently to emergent situations and changes in procedure plans. Educate patients and families regarding procedures and postoperative care as appropriate.
