We are now accepting applications for the Clifton Springs Hospital Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse Fellowship Program for December 2026 RN graduates. The emergency department can be exciting and exhilarating. At Rochester Regional, we have some of the busiest emergency departments in the state, outside of New York City. Our ED fellowships, available only to recent nursing graduates , give you the opportunity to experience this fast-paced environment and determine if it's right for you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care & Service:
Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; performing various treatment procedures; providing physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervising assigned team members
Planning & Communication :
Develop and document individualized care plans customized for each patient's unique needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed; maintain effective communication to convey patient health status, treatment plans and progress Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Management:
Demonstrate proficient use of an EHR
  • including accurate patient and provider documentation and communication
Compliance:
Adhere to required department and system protocols, regulations (local, state, federal) and education requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing Registered Nurse license in New York State Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. Any physical requirements reported by a prospective employee and/or employee's physician or delegate will be considered for accommodations.
