The day starts at the student's home for the morning bus, runs through the school day, and ends with the afternoon bus home. Same student, same schedule, all year. Position Details Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Immediate start through June 25, 2027 — follows the school calendar W-2 employment, weekly pay by direct deposit One student, one school, one consistent schedule Responsibilities Blood glucose monitoring (CGM and fingerstick) and insulin administration per physician orders — pump and/or injections Carb counting and insulin dosing for meals and snacks Recognize and treat hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, including glucagon administration when needed Accompany the student on district transportation to and from school Communicate with the family, teachers, and the building school nurse Accurate daily documentation Requirements Current NYS RN license in good standing Current CPR/BLS certification Experience managing Type 1 diabetes — insulin pumps and CGMs (Dexcom, Omnipod, Tandem, etc.) strongly preferred Pediatric or school nursing experience preferred; comfortable working one-on-one with a young child NYSED fingerprint clearance, or the ability to obtain it (we'll walk you through the process) Physical exam and required health clearances Reliable transportation to the Huntington area Reliable attendance — this student depends on you Why USMS $50.00/hour, W-2, paid weekly School calendar — nights, weekends, holidays, and summers off Our mobile app handles clock-in/out and time submission — no paper timesheets Local Melville office that actually picks up the phone To Apply Submit your resume through Indeed or call our office at (631) 385-1700.
