Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Obstetrics, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional maternal and neonatal care. This position offers an energetic environment dedicated to supporting women through pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. You will be at the forefront of patient-centered care, ensuring safety, comfort, and positive outcomes for mothers and their babies. Your skills in advanced obstetric procedures, critical care, and patient assessment will contribute to a compassionate and efficient healthcare setting committed to excellence. Duties Provide comprehensive prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care to obstetric patients with attention to individual needs and medical histories. Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner to ensure optimal health status. Assist with labor management including IV infusion, suturing, catheterization, and aseptic techniques during delivery procedures. Administer medications including pain management therapies and botulinum toxin treatments when applicable, following strict protocols. Conduct patient assessments, perform physical examinations, and document medical records accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, patient education, and long-term care strategies for new mothers and infants. Respond swiftly to emergency situations such as neonatal resuscitation or acute pain episodes within a Level I trauma center environment.
Required Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NRP
& AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring Experience Proven experience working in obstetrics or maternal-fetal medicine within hospital settings; Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred. Strong background in critical care environments including ICU or emergency medicine with familiarity in trauma medicine and neonatal resuscitation procedures. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; proficiency in
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding for accurate documentation. Skilled in advanced nursing procedures such as IV insertion, tube feeding management, ventilator support, and sterile processing techniques. Knowledge of infectious disease control practices along with experience working with diverse patient populations including individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Experience managing complex cases involving labor & delivery, postpartum care, geriatrics including memory care or hospice & palliative medicine settings is highly valued. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations through specimen collection/processing and laboratory experience to support comprehensive patient assessments. Pay:
