36 Hours Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) care to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients across various medical and surgical units, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate treatment. Your expertise will support patient recovery, promote health education, and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in diverse clinical settings, including critical care, emergency medicine, and outpatient services, with proficiency in electronic health records systems such as Epic and Cerner. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform individualized care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions. Perform advanced procedures such as IV insertions, suturing, catheterizations, and ostomy care with precision and aseptic technique. Manage acute pain and facilitate complex treatments including dialysis, ventilator support, and tube feeding for diverse patient populations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies. Document all patient interactions comprehensively within electronic health records (EHR/Epic/Cerner) ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide emergency response in critical situations such as trauma or cardiac events, utilizing skills gained from Level I/II trauma center experience. Educate patients and families on health management topics including hospice & palliative care, behavioral health needs, and chronic disease management. Support infection control protocols and maintain sterile processing standards across clinical areas. Assist with triage assessments in urgent care or outpatient settings to prioritize patient needs effectively. Qualifications Valid RN licensure in the relevant state or jurisdiction with current BLS certification; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are preferred. Minimum of three years' experience in medical-surgical units or related acute care environments; experience working within Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms; familiarity with

ICD-9/10

coding is advantageous. Demonstrated expertise in procedures such as phlebotomy, venipuncture, sterile dressing changes, and catheter care. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to inpatient nursing care. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics (including memory and dementia care), individuals with disabilities or developmental delays. Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and compassionate patient interactions. Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases is a plus.
