The Instructional Support Technician provides operational and technical support for nursing skills laboratories and simulation activities. Working collaboratively with nursing faculty, this position assists with the preparation, operation, and maintenance of simulation equipment, laboratory supplies, and learning environments to support the effective delivery of clinical education experiences. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assists nursing students during open skills laboratory practice. Sets up and breaks down skills laboratory and simulation equipment for classes and practice sessions. Prepares and organizes supplies for nursing skills laboratory classes. Operates simulation equipment during simulation laboratory sessions and Clinical Days on Campus. Provides technical support to faculty and students during simulation, skills laboratory, and other related activities. Assists with inventorying and maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment. Demonstrates knowledge and expertise in moulage techniques to create realistic representations of injuries, illnesses, and disease processes for simulation activities. This position requires flexibility, with availability to work evening hours, as needed to meet operational requirements and the ability to lift and transport materials and equipment. Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree. Current RN license. Experience in a healthcare, nursing, simulation, laboratory, or educational setting. Knowledge of clinical skills, medical equipment, and healthcare procedures. Proficiency with computer applications and instructional technology. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students. Ability to set up, operate, move, and maintain simulation equipment and laboratory supplies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience supporting nursing education, skills laboratories, or healthcare simulation programs. Experience operating high-fidelity simulation equipment and audiovisual technology. Demonstrated expertise in moulage and simulation scenario preparation. Knowledge of simulation best practices and healthcare simulation standards. Experience managing laboratory inventory, equipment maintenance, and supply procurement.

Additional Information:

This is a 10-month UUP position. For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, September 4, 2026 , and ending Thursday, September 17, 2026 , applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
