Job Description

Schedule/Hours:
Rotating shifts: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm / 11:00 am - 7:30 pm On-call responsibilities with a 30-minute response time 13-week assignment
Qualifications:
Current NYS RN license required Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing 2+ years of recent operating room experience required BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Completion of (or willingness to enroll in) the Association of Operating Room Nursing Peri-operative 101 Education Program for those without recent OR experience Ability to recognize and address patient safety, function effectively under pressure, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills Solid leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills are essential Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills necessary Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality perioperative care, adhering to established best practices Assess patient needs holistically—clinically, educationally, and emotionally Ensure safety in patient and equipment handling Utilize and maintain OR-specific clinical equipment and instrumentation Serve as a team leader or charge nurse as required Participate actively in professional development and mentorship of new staff
