Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-ER Job Type Contract Seeking a skilled registered nurse with emergency department experience to provide comprehensive care in a high-volume emergency setting. This contract position requires expertise in supporting patients of varying acuity levels in a dynamic, 48-treatment space ED. The role focuses on night shifts, utilizing strong clinical judgment and adaptability to ensure exceptional, timely patient care.
Schedule:
Three 12-hour night shifts per week
Qualifications:
Current RN license and
BLS/ACLS
certification required Strong background in emergency nursing, with at least 1 year of recent ED experience preferred Proficiency in managing high patient loads; able to maintain a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio Excellent communication and critical thinking skills Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment Experience with electronic health records and standardized ED protocols
Core Responsibilities:
Assess, triage, and provide evidence-based interventions for patients presenting to the ED Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to initiate and adjust treatment plans Administer medications, therapies, and advanced life support interventions as indicated Document care, assessments, and changes in patient condition promptly and accurately Educate and counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up Maintain a safe and organized clinical environment while prioritizing workload efficiently
