What they do
A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description
- Ability to travel to and from locations throughout the Capital District as needed (must have a valid, current driver's license). A car will be provided.
- Associate's degree in nursing, bachelor's degree preferred.
- Able to demonstrate strong clinical nursing assessment skills, required.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in an environment where clinical nursing skills, care coordination and care management skills were required; Home Care experience preferred.
- Affinity for innovation, creativity and creating good change.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; with the ability to advise, recommend and support the care being promoted.
- Experience in working with geriatric people and an understanding of the aging process.
- Understanding of the unique culture of woman's' religious communities preferred; experience in parish nursing, a plus!
- Able to work independently, as well as collaboratively on a team and support a positive work environment.
