Job Description

Hunter Business School (HBS), Division of Allied Health, is seeking an experienced OB/PEDS Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program as a Didactic Instructor (Clinical Instructors are welcome to apply). This is an exciting opportunity to teach and mentor the next generation of practical nurses in a supportive and student-centered environment.. The Faculty Instructor is a registered nurse who demonstrates expertise in nursing and in teaching nursing. As a member of HBS's Practical Nursing Program, the Faculty Instructor is responsible for the educational preparation of safe, compassionate, caring practical nurses, who are eligible to sit for the NY State Licensing Examinations (NCLEX-PN) following graduation. This instruction includes teaching and supervision of the adult learner and providing direct patient care to populations across the life span. The Faculty Instructor will support the overall goals of the Practical Nursing Program at Hunter Business School.
Responsibilities Classroom Instructor:
Teach classes for up to 24 students in multiple specialty subjects such as Adult Health Nursing, Childbearing, Family & Pediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, and Transition to
Nursing Practice General:
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development and school activities Serve as academic adviser
Qualifications:
Master's degree with major in nursing NYS RN license is required OB and Pediatric Nursing Experience Minimum 3 years OB/Peds clinical practice within the past 5 years. Previous teaching and administration experience in a nursing education program preferred but not required Effective personnel management and leadership skills Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication, decision making and critical thinking skills required
