Job Summary Middletown Medical is seeking a dedicated, skilled Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team on the night shift . The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive care to hospitalized patients and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support safe, effective patient care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgment, strong assessment skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage a diverse range of patient needs in a hospital setting. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments. Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings. Order and review laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and other evaluations as appropriate. Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and clinical protocols. Monitor patients' clinical status and respond appropriately to changes in condition. Provide ongoing assessment and management of hospitalized patients during the night shift. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Communicate patient status, treatment plans, and significant clinical changes effectively with the healthcare team. Provide patient and family education as appropriate. Perform procedures within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice and level of training. Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation. Support continuity of care, including appropriate handoff to the incoming clinical team. Participate in quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives. Comply with hospital policies, professional standards, and applicable federal and New York State regulations. Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner through an accredited certifying organization. Current BLS certification. Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Ability to work the required night shift schedule. Experience Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred. Hospital, acute-care, hospitalist, or comparable clinical experience preferred. Experience managing a diverse patient population and a variety of medical conditions. Strong clinical judgment and patient-management skills.
