A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Establishing and providing a plan of care for the patient based on the results of the nursing assessment visit, client needs, and physician orders. Providing education to patients/families and paraprofessional staff. Conducting as-needed visits to patients who require additional support. Communicating changes in patients' conditions, treatment, and medications directly to the agency.
Nurse Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN). Home care experience preferred. Must have a current NYS license and registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Must have a reliable vehicle to travel to patients. This position requires travel throughout Orange County and neighboring counties. Mileage reimbursement provided. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required. Candidates who are bilingual may be eligible for a higher rate of pay.
