06/15/2026 4:51 PM Rockland BOCES is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its school health services team. This professional nursing position involves maintaining student and staff health records, providing emergency medical care, supporting student wellness, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within the educational environment. The work is specialized, diverse, and requires sound clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to student success. The successful candidate will provide a wide range of nursing services, including administering first aid and emergency treatment, dispensing medications in accordance with physician orders and school policies, conducting health screenings, maintaining confidential health records, monitoring immunization compliance, and assisting with communicable disease prevention and control efforts. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health plans and support students with chronic health conditions and special medical needs. Additional responsibilities include assisting with school health clinics, monitoring student wellness, maintaining inventories of health supplies and equipment, promoting health education and healthy habits, preparing required reports, and ensuring compliance with New York State Education Department and Department of Health requirements. The incumbent may also provide one-on-one nursing services for students with disabilities when necessary to support their educational programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong nursing assessment skills, the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations, excellent organizational and recordkeeping abilities, and the capacity to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff members. The work is performed under the general direction of a Coordinator of Health Services (Schools) or higher-level administrator. Supervision may be exercised over clerical support staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a valid license issued by the State of New York to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.

License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the State of New York must be maintained throughout the course of employment in this title.
