A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
An educator for adults who functions as consultant, resource person, and teacher to all levels of personnel in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of Berkshire Health Systems. Responsibilities include assessing needs, establishing objectives, developing and implementing programs, evaluating outcomes, and maintaining current professional knowledge. The primary responsibility is for the development of staff within BHS and especially in the educator's assigned department.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
(Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience:
Minimum 3 years professional experience in health care required. Prior relevant experience within assigned preferred.
Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Nursing or Human Resources; Master's preferred.
License, Certification & Registration:
RN - MA RN
License CPR Instructor status preferred
Other Requirements:
Knowledge of adult education methods and techniques Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities Ability to teach all age groups Registered Nurse if involved in nursing development
