Infusion Therapy Location:
Riverhead, NY Employment Type:
Direct Hire Pay Rate:
Starting at $48 per hour, based on experience
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday-Friday, with shifts scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Job Description A leading outpatient specialty healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support patients receiving infusion-based treatments. The RN will administer medications, monitor patient responses, provide education, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team to deliver safe and compassionate care. Responsibilities Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic agents, and supportive medications according to physician orders Assess patients and monitor vital signs and clinical responses throughout treatment Document medication administration, patient condition, and treatment outcomes in the EMR and MAR Recognize and respond to treatment-related reactions, complications, and symptoms Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, potential side effects, symptom management, and follow-up care Provide guidance regarding emergency procedures and when to contact the clinical team Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals Participate in clinical research protocols when applicable Follow all safety standards for handling hazardous medications and cytotoxic materials Properly use personal protective equipment and follow infection-control procedures Connect patients and families with appropriate supportive care resources Qualifications Active New York State Registered Nurse license Current Basic Life Support certification Oncology, hematology, infusion, or chemotherapy experience strongly preferred Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills Excellent communication, organizational, and patient-education abilities Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in a patient's condition Experience working with electronic medical record systems preferred Knowledge of standard precautions, bloodborne pathogen protocols, and proper PPE usage Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team Benefits Medical insurance beginning on the first day of employment Dental and vision insurance Life insurance Short- and long-term disability coverage 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off Eight paid holidays, including two floating holidays
