Compensation Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Prof Dev Pract & Research Position Summary Summary:
The Certified Wound, Ostomy & Continence (WOC) Nurse Specialist is a Registered Professional Nurse who, as a result of graduate education, possesses advanced knowledge in acute management and rehabilitation of patients with integumentary, gastro-intestinal and genito-urinary disorders. The WOC Nurse provides and facilitates the optimal management of patients with acute/chronic wounds, ostomies, fistulae, tubes and drains. The WOC Nurse individualizes and coordinates complex treatment modalities/adjuvant therapies and palliative management across care settings through consultation, education, research and collaboration. As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, the WOC Nurse functions in an autonomous and collaborative framework. The WOC Nurse exemplifies the philosophy and standards of the Patient Care Service Division of the Hospital. The WOC Nurse maintains Wound Ostomy & Continence Board Certification and possesses a Master's Degree in Nursing.
Qualifications Responsibilities:
Education Required Must complete in-house orientation program Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (Masters Degree in Nursing required). Must successfully complete internal Nursing Orientation program. Experience And Skills Excellent interpersonal skills Speaks, reads and writes English Registered Professional Nurse for a minimum of three years. Recent clinical experience as a Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse Specialist with demonstrated competency in specialty area of practice. License/Certifications Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Advanced Certification from a nationally recognized certifying body in area of clinical practice/specialty. WOCN Certification.
BLS Working Conditions Other information:
Working Conditions Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn Frequent, prolonged standing/walking. Lifts, positions and/or transfers patients/equipment. Protective clothing/equipment worn (face shields, gloves, impermeable gown, particulate respirator).
