PM Active NY RN License Required We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department (ED) Travel RN for a 13-week assignment in Oneonta, NY . This opportunity is ideal for an ED nurse who is comfortable working in a community hospital, critical access hospital, or smaller facility environment where resources may be more limited. The ideal candidate must be confident managing the full scope of patient care independently , including respiratory needs. Candidates with only Level I or Level II trauma experience may not be a good fit for this assignment due to the resources available. Pay Options 48

RTO:

Up to 5 calendar days allowed during the 13-week contract Strong preference for no RTO during the first contract Individual day requests may be accommodated Emergency Department Overview 15 ED beds 4 routinely used hall spaces 2 hall overflow spaces Dual-bay trauma room Average daily census: 40-70 patients Nurse-to-patient ratio: typically 1:4-1:6 Ratios may vary based on patient acuity U-shaped department surrounding a central nursing/provider area Patient Population This ED serves a broad patient population and is the nearest emergency department for many surrounding communities, with the next closest ED approximately 25 miles away.

Common patient populations include:

General emergency cases Stroke MI/cardiac emergencies Trauma Psychiatric patients Geriatric patients Pediatric patients Patients requiring stabilization and higher-level transfer Equipment & Technology Adult and pediatric crash carts Ventilators Ultrasound Philips cardiac monitoring systems

documentation system Staffing & Support Support resources include: Registration staff ED technicians 24-hour respiratory therapy coverage Central nursing/provider area ED Techs assist with: Suicide patient observation Vital signs Patient transport Bedside care Important Resource Expectations Because this is a smaller/community hospital environment, the RN must be comfortable working with limited resources and a high level of autonomy . The ideal candidate should be able to: Manage their own patient assignments independently Provide the full scope of patient care Manage respiratory needs Stabilize a wide variety of emergency patients Care for both adult and pediatric patients Recognize when patients require higher levels of care or transfer Adapt to varying census and staffing levels Requirements Active NY RN license required Previous

experience Community hospital, critical access hospital, or smaller facility experience required Must be comfortable working with limited resources Must be comfortable managing the full scope of patient care Must be able to independently manage respiratory needs BLS required ACLS required PALS required TNCC preferred, but not required Ideal Candidate This assignment is best suited for an ED RN who has experience working in a smaller hospital setting and is comfortable being highly independent. RNs with exclusively Level I or Level II trauma center experience may not be a good fit , as the resources and support available in this facility are more limited.
