Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Advance your nursing career by providing exceptional care as a Registered Nurse within a fast-paced stepdown/telemetry unit. This contract position is ideal for compassionate, skilled RNs who thrive under the pressure of delivering high-quality care to patients needing close monitoring.
Schedule:
Three 12-hour night shifts per week
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid RN license with experience in stepdown and telemetry nursing Current ACLS certification Demonstrated skills in medication administration, patient assessments, and developing care plans Proficiency in safely performing physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and lifting Strong communication abilities to coordinate with physicians, patients, and multidisciplinary teams Committed to accurate patient documentation and prompt response to changes in patient conditions Exhibits effective teamwork and adaptability within fast-changing environments
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care for a 6:1 patient ratio on night shift, including hourly assessments, frequent rounding, and rapid intervention as needed Accurately administer medications and monitor patient responses, intervening per protocol and escalating concerns where appropriate Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and healthcare teams Maintain open and professional communication with families and medical staff to ensure continuity of care and patient safety Safely assist patients with activities of daily living, transfers, ambulation, and maintaining comfort Document all care, interventions, and patient observations accurately and promptly within electronic medical record systems
