Job Description

Our client in New York is seeking a dedicated General Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 180-day assignment commencing Nov 16, 2026. This position involves comprehensive responsibilities, including surgical first assist duties in the operating room, medical surgical floor coverage, and managing patient orders, admissions, discharges, and consults. The schedule typically comprises 10 or 12-hour shifts, with weekend rounding and night call required as needed. Responsibilities and Duties Provide surgical first assist services in the operating room. Cover medical surgical floor duties, including daily rounding and progress notes. Manage patient orders, admissions, discharges, and consults. Work with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients. Perform cases such as robotics (Da Vinci), OB (c sections), lumpectomies, hernias, laparoscopies, gallbladder procedures, and appendectomies. Participate in weekend rounding and night call rotations as needed. Additional Information Board Certification in General Surgery is required.
EMR System:
Epic Primarily an inpatient setting. Call schedule includes weekend rounding and night call as needed. Requires proficiency in surgical first assisting and medical surgical floor coverage.
