Job Description

Position Summary The Pediatric Nurse is responsible for providing compassionate, professional, and patient-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents in a private practice in Rockaway Queens, New York. This role involves assessing patients, administering medications, educating families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal health outcomes. The ideal candidate possesses excellent clinical skills, deep empathy for children and their families, and the ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced environments. Responsibilities •
Patient Care and Assessment:
Perform comprehensive, age-appropriate physical assessments of pediatric patients. Monitor vital signs, track growth and development, and document allobservations accurately. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans incollaboration with physicians and other team members. •
Medication/Vaccine Administration:
Calculate and verify pediatric dosages based on patient weight. Administer medications and treatments, including inhalation therapies, asprescribed by physicians. Administering vaccines in adherence to AAP American Academy of Pediatrics) guidelines is required. •
Patient and Family Education:
Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans,medication usage, and home care instructions. Provide emotional support and resources to families coping with a child'sillness or injury. •
Collaboration and Communication:
Communicate effectively with physicians and nurse practitioners. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records. Follow up on consults from specialist and additional lab work. Monitor Newborn screenings. Review charts and follow up on vaccine schedules.
Cross-trained with Medical Assistant duties:
Completing medical forms including school and day care forms. Performing in office procedures such as specimen collection: strep and flutests, viral testing; urinalysis; finger stick blood draws, etc. Ensuring exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned and stocked aftereach patient. •
Safety and Infection Control:
Ensure a safe and comforting environment for pediatric patients. Adhere strictly to infection control policies and procedures. Qualifications Ability to quickly assess a patient's condition, anticipate potential complications,and respond appropriately. Proficiency in technology EHR systems, patient messaging systems, Google Suite, Google sheets, Google Docs, Gmail), etc. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with children of all ages, their families, and healthcare providers Education and Licensure Associate Degree in Nursing ADN or Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN froman accredited program. BSN preferred. Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse RN license in the state of New York Basic Life Support BLS certification required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support PALS certification required. Experience Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with preferred experience in a pediatric setting.

Rockaway Beach Blvd Schedule:
Full-time, 810 hour shifts, and weekends.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
